Asbestos and Environmental Protection Wilkins Health & Safety Services have formed an association with another company that has achieved UKAS Accreditation for sampling, surveying, fibre counting and analysis of asbestos containing materials (ACMs).
Our associate is highly experienced in the Environmental Protection Act; Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH); noise surveying; air quality control measurements; local exhaust ventilation tests; waste management; and soil sampling.
They have the latest scientific technology resources: gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GCMS), HPLC, atomic absorbtion spectrophotometry, infra-red analysis, scanning electron microscopy, colorimetry, microbiological methods, and all classic analytical methods.
They have carried out numerous asbestos surveys for a wide range of organisations, including public bodies, local authorities and private companies.
Some of the services we provide through them:
- Air Monitoring - 4-stage clearance monitoring (including reoccupation certification), leak, background and reassurance air testing in accordance with our UKAS accreditation - available 7 days a week.
- Bulk Sample Analysis - They offer a fast, competitive and thorough Asbestos fibre identification service in accordance with their UKAS accreditation. In the UK, the 3 most common forms of asbestos are Chrysotile (white), Amosite (brown) and Crocidolite (blue). They can be found in many materials including insulation board panels, cement, gaskets, artex, vinyl flooring, etc.
- Surveys - They can carry out the required surveys. Management Survey which is required to set up and manage an asbestos register in occupied premises or a Refurbishment & Demolition Survey which is required prior to any structural alterations or demolition work being carried out.
